Job Title: Mail and Quality Control Coordinator

Reports to: Administrative Support Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Summary: This position combines Fed Ex/Mail Clerk and Quality Final Inspector responsibilities.  The ideal candidate will be proactive and responsible with the requirements of both positions.

Essential duties & responsibilities include the following:

Mail Clerk (40%) Mondays & Fridays:

  • Pick up/Drop off mail at the US Post Office in Ferdinand
  • Ensure the safe and successful transfer of incoming and outgoing mail, goods and packages to their intended destination.
  • Ensure items are sealed, labeled and ready for Fed Ex/UPS shipment.
  • Displaying teamwork with other employees
  • Provide guidance to part time employees in department.

Job Requirements

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Possessing comprehensive knowledge and understanding of how to deliver and sort packages and parcels according to guidelines.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to function well in a team environment. 
  • Should be able to work independently and demonstrate proper judgment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license. 
  • Should be able to operate all mail-related equipment, including scanner, Fed Ex/UPS software & Pitney Bowes mail machine. 
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Able to deliver & pick up inter-office mail throughout the entire Ferdinand facility, including remote sites KNU and Plant 10. This requires extensive walking. 
  • Able to operate a pallet jack.

Quality Final Inspector (60%) Tuesdays-Thursdays:

  • Inspect finished product to ensure conformity to quality standards
  • Review production tag for verification of correct fabric, mechanisms, etc.
  • Perform testing of the kick out operation, which includes sitting in unit, raising
  • Communicate with Upholstery Supervisor on flawed product

Job requirements: 

  • Repetitive of pulling, pushing, bending, twisting, and standing
  • Must be able to distinguish variation of color
  • Must be able to move product off conveyor
  • Maintain a consistent work pace
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, which could include overtime
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Adhere to quality standards and safety practices as defined in the work instructions
  • Possess willingness to cross-train on other jobs or lines as production dictates

Lifting weight: 240 lbs. maximum              32 lbs. frequent

Education or experience required:           High School or Equivalent
